Do yourself a favor and stay away from this sort of software. Not only is McAfee and Symantec (Norton) spyware in its own way (that it is constantly contacting their home base with everything you do) but it gives you a false sense of security. Pretty much since the Windows XP Operating system where Microsoft did not release the operating kernel to these "high-end security" companies, the only way their product can be successful is to first disable the built in windows security (turns off the firewall for starters)... if you want something good AND FREE then go get Avast (http://tpsconsulting.com/avast.htm). If you have a windows machine you still need antivirus but not something that claims to be an all-in-one saviour of the internet security.. use Malwarebytes (http://tpsconsulting.com/malwarebyts.htm) and SpywareBlaster (http://tpsconsulting.com/spyware_blaster.htm) for your malware scans.
