Newsletter
Dear Producer,
As we enter the summer months, the news cycle continues as the public finds alternative forms of entertainment. We advise you to continue to keep your No Agenda Showas part of your weekly routines. Many of you have not contributed to the future of the show for a while; please consider a contribution today by clicking here. It is very slow so far this week.

On the Thursday No Agenda Show we analyze the peculiar NBC News “exclusive” interview with Ed Snowden, which by its very nature is highly edited making it dubious at best. You won’t want to miss this discussion.

The first thing you notice about this interview is an attempt to reset the Snowden narrative to something new.  He’s now James Bond, of sorts. A synopsis of the new narrative is here on the BBC website. What is the point of this? You will find out on tomorrow’s show.

We also begin the countdown to the six week cycle that should produce an eventaround June 15. As you’ve noticed the events have been very minor and not worthy of major coverage and public obsession. This may be due to blowback regarding the effectiveness of the surveillance state to actually protect anyone. Every event, as long as the cycle continues, will provide more insight into this issue.

The mask is my girlfriend's idea!

And tomorrow there will be some final thoughts on the recent trips to Japan and Detroit.

Finally, the Show will continue the double-nickels-on-the-dime promotion for another week. Please click here for a fast and easy $55.10 contribution to support the show through the summer months.

Your co-hosts,
John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry

Now will someone please fill me in on how they can think this stuff causes any harm? This is hilariously funny and for no reason should this be a representation of all who use this stuff!

I am working exclusively from a Chromebook -- here's how and why

First of all, as I read the article below and push my way through the advertising---normally I would just close the article and move on as I really don't have time for this crap since I am sure I can find the news some other place that isn't jamming ads through my .. brain...   but seriously.. using nothing but a chromebook is really not that big of a deal. I haven't used ms office for years as the google drive works just fine for me.. in fact it does a better job of converting various versions of office/wordperfect/pdf than many others. If you spend all of your time online then you shouldn't have any trouble with chromebook. I do a lot of remote work and for that I use LogMeIn. Unfortunately they are a little slow in getting things up to speed so in order to remote connect there is a small url add on needed at the end of the connection but it only takes a second and I"m in.  You see, there is typically a work around for whatever you may find yourself doing on the internet these days.. you don't have to be a slave to only one company , like Microsoft... and in this case Google (chromebook) would love to have your business.. so long as I am not forced to use some advertising version of software then go for it!  These articles that make it sound like it is such a chore to use something so simple as a $249 chromebook for all of your office needs should really..not!

Saturday No Agenda Alert

Holiday Edition

Dear Producer,
Please help cure the weekend doldrums with a quick donation to help boost the contributions for the Sunday Show. Please click here.
The show would like to wish you aHappy Memorial Day weekend. This goes for all the American producers of the No Agenda Show. On my way to the Detroit airport to head back to California I was actually stunned while driving through New Boston, Michigan by the number of vets taking donations in exchange for the buddy poppy you can wear as a lapel decoration to commemorate those who served in foreign wars.
I have not seen this in California for 30 years because, apparently, California does not care about any of past American history. On Sunday San Francisco is, in fact, having a lame parade celebrating (this is no joke) Brazil and its upcoming Olympics. It's a faux Carnivàle and it is supposedly the largest “Carnivàle” celebration on the West Coast. Scenes from last year’s event are pathetic, especially when compared to real Carnivàle. San Francisco is on the left, Brazil on the eight.
So what's the point of this in San Francisco?

Anyway, back to the real holiday and commemoration. Those of you who are International listeners have your own variations of this day such as VE day. Hopefully you'll be listening to the show, but note that there is always a holiday drop off in listeners and contributions, so please contribute what you can. Find something on the support page and help load balance. We have a lot to talk about on the Sunday Show.

Your co-host,

John C. Dvorak

Dear Producer,
This is written in Detroit in advance of tomorrow's show. I would recommend anyone who has the chance visit the place just to see the odd abandonment of buildings everywhere. This will be discussed on tomorrow's show along with the last report from Tokyo.
Again the Sunday Show was not well supported and we remind our supporters and producers that the summer is always bad and to please contribute any amount you can afford, especially if you have not contributed for a while or never contributed.  Click here and help.
Good stuff tomorrow.

Problem solved (Computers)

As far as I am concerned the problem is NOT solved! In fact if you follow tech support like what you read below you are only gong to be using 2001 tech with the Internet Explorer.  Who uses the Internet Explorer these days but those that are completely unaware of a much safer, more secure browser like Chrome.  Get with the times people, if you are going to give free tech support!

    No Agenda-The Saturday Missive

    Dear Producer,

The Sunday No Agenda Show needs your help. Please support the Sundayshow with any sort of contribution, whatever you can afford, and everyone can afford something. Be part of the family. Show some support byclicking here and contributing whatever you can.

Adam continues his report tomorrow of the wonders of Japan. From what I can tell, he will want to learn Japanese next. Tomorrow you also get a wrap of the most recent FCC hearings about Net Neutrality.

On Twitter (@therealdvorak), I promised to explain the reason that the Democrat commissioners voted yes on the Net neutrality discussion tacitly approving the despised Wheeler proposals, while the Republicans voted no.

The liberals in the USA, concerned about losing net neutrality, believed that the Wheeler plan was onerous and thus the evil Republican commissioners would vote for it and the freedom-loving democrats would vote against it.The opposite happened and everyone was baffled and shaking their heads.

Obviously, they did not actually watch the hearings. First of all, the two Republicans, when you listened to them, were obviously Libertarians in their philosophy so there was no way they’d vote for anything like this as it involved government over-reach. Douchebags TV analysts, who obviously did not watch the hearings, opined that the Republicans voted no because they were just going to vote the opposite way the Democrats voted. What an amazingly bigoted thought.

Not sure how this applies. But somehow it works.

The Democrats who voted with Wheeler also had a skewed opinion. Their logic was that the government had to get more involved. This was because the net and net neutrality would be ruined by these horrible corporations. We need to save the public by doing something now! These two Democrat women were very smug and self-assured that this is the way to go.
Appropriate clips from the hearings will be played tomorrow.

    Saving the public

In the end it’s a comedy and you can be certain that the real target is freedom of speech. Enjoy it while you can. This has been playing out exactly as the No Agenda script has predicted.

This is another reason to keep the No Agenda message thriving bycontributing today for the Sunday show.

    Your co-host,

    John C. Dvorak

PS You are encouraged to send your checks, photos, and any sort of contribution to the PO Box. Mailing to No Agenda Show, Box 339, El Cerrito, CA 94530

Sales of smartphones with 5-inch+ screens grew by a staggering 369% last quarter

I personally saw the writing on the wall with the release of the first Samsung Galaxy Note. Although many thought I was crazy and even laughed at me, carrying around this 'huge' phone, I knew it was just the ticket, especially with the amount of information you read on the little device on a daily basis.  It was interesting in the early days of the 5+ inch phone when people would laugh and compare it to the first gen cell phones that were the size of your head.

    No Agenda Newsletter

    No Agenda
    Newsletter
    Dear Producer,

Adam will be reporting from Tokyo on tomorrow’s show and you will not want to miss it.  He promises all sorts of new insights from this trip.

    Modern Japan

The Sunday contributions to the show were down for the fourth straight week. Hopefully this will not continue through the summer and you are reminded that every penny counts and no donation to the production of the show is too small as long as you contribute something. Click here and please help.

For the generous and those who appreciate the objectivity of No Agenda you can now make an official “stonation” which a number of producers have already contributed.

Officially it is $420.33 and reflects our support of drug decriminalization which is still an unpopular position within the US Government where officials support big pharmaand the doping of America with powerful pharmaceuticals designed to addict citizens with ruinous results.

The latest stonation came from Spencer Pearson who writes in with a poignant observation:
I  fell in love with the show. It's insane to see how many media sources--even many of the comedy podcasts I love--end up repeating some of the same bullcrap memes the mainstream media has cooked up and dished out. Between Adam's beautiful dissection of the #BringBackOurGirls malarkey and John's impassioned defense of the cannabis plant last Sunday, I knew I could be a boner no more! Please accept my donation of $420.33 – the Ultimate stonation.

The producers, supporters and listeners often forget that No Agenda not only avoidscontrived memes but exposes many of them before they become popular. Everyone often forgets that No Agenda is the only show that does this analysis week after week. No Agenda really cuts through the crap unlike anything else you can find in news analysis today. Meme disclosures are a key benefit.

    Photoshop Helps

And this analysis is only possible because there is no commercial influence because YOU, not advertisers,  support the show.

Please continue with a contribution of any amount today by clicking here.

John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry
PS And you should definitely check out our subscription plans by clicking here.
