No Agenda Reminder

Dear Producers,
Has anyone asked the question that immediately comes to mind when a New York Times headline blares: ISIS Displays Sophisticated Command of Varied Media?Who within the ISIS organization has any of these “skills” and where did they get them. It’s not natural for radical Muslims who are Sharia-loving fundamentalists to have anything to do with social media. But for some unknown reason these folks are better at it then General Motors. How does that happen?

Yes, an actual show

This is the sort of thing that is openly discussed on your No Agenda Show and this is why your show needs continued support to bring you insights that actually make sense. So click here and contribute anything you can to the Sunday Show.

We have low donations so far for the Sunday show. Please contribute if you have not already.

And remember the double producership beast donation. You get two executive producerships for tomorrow’s show and show 666 coming up shortly.

The Show
There are still a number of silly issues that do not want to go away. The water and ice challenge is now a dirt challenge where people protesting the Israeli bombing of Gaza dump rubble on their heads. Matt Damon dumped toilet water on his head. What is wrong with these people? I can only imagine what historians will think of all this 100 years from now.

Not a contestant on AGT

While the mainstream media is all-in on anything that distracts the public from actually understanding world affairs, this is not the case with the No Agenda Show. The supporters and producers of the No Agenda Show believe that the more you know, the healthier you will be. You want the real stories behind the story.

The ludicrous. We all know kittens prefer Remingtons

You prefer to recognize the ludicrous and call it what it is. You get this from the No Agenda Show because no advertiser is in the way, telling the show what to say and how to say it. Everyone with “sponsors” is subject to this interference. No Agenda is not. You must support this effort for you own good and your own peace of mind. This is serious.

Send in a contribution today through Paypal here, or look at the support page for
ideas here.

Thanks
Your co-host,

John C. Dvorak

No Agenda Newsletter

 No Agenda
Newsletter
Dear Producer,
There is a lot of fishy news and with Adam in Holland for his birthday, the show will have a worldwide perspective on much of the craziness. This means your No Agenda Show will be more important to you than ever thus it will be more important than ever that you help keep the show going with a notable contribution today by clicking here.
If you have never contributed to the show think about the sack of 7’s anniversary donation. Click here.

One thesis used by the show says that the entire ISIS operation is American controlled is some way or other and might even be a honey pot for extremists. Or it could be just another means to frighten the American public. There is a lot that is suspiciousabout this operation. Look at the picture taken from RT below of supposed ISIS extremists supplicating themselves as if to pray.

Here is a group of ISIS men with banners standing in the street
for no apparent reason except to pose for photo op.

Out of the blue they decide to pray to Allah but for some
unknown reason they pray in different directions.

Why are they forming a semi-circle to do this when they are all supposed to be praying in the direction of Mecca? This exhibition makes no sense unless it is staged. One group is pointing in the direction of the camera as if to show tribute to the cameraman or the camera itself. Like an actor might do.

The Unknown Magician. How to Remove a head with a Sharpie!

Now we have news that the Brit who was sawing away at Foley’s neck in the supposed beheading (that was edited for some unknown reason) has mysteriously been identified by the experts in British intelligence. Really? This should be fun.

Wrong McCain
And as this is written the media parrots are blowing out the sketchy story about Douglas McAuthor McCain. The three names are typical of six-week cycle incidents and the misspelled “McAuthor” as in "Author" is odd. He also went by the name Duale when fighting. This story has fakery written all over it. To top it off. He was 33 years old, the code number!

And, of course, in the end your No Agenda Show will have an explanation not found anywhere else and one that makes sense because No Agenda can dig where others will not. And this is only possible because you support the show, not an advertiser. Continue this by clicking here.

John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry

Feedly's new 'slider' view makes it easier to read your RSS feed

It's one thing to promote new features but not when they simply aren't true.  I am a pro user of feedly and although they have a beta channel that I utilize all the time, where you would think they would first roll out any new features for trial in the beta channel. This was not the case with this latest "slider" feature.  I'm really not sure how they can say it makes it easier when it means clicking on the X to close the window, causing one more mouse click. There is no point in this feature when the previous version, when you clicked on a story, would open a larger expanded view but still would not provide you with the entire story. For that you would still have to click on VIEW WEBSITE but if you didn't you could choose to just scroll further and you would bring up the next story in the feed channel.  Now with the "slider" window it would pop open and you would be presented with the same sized window enlarged with a little more content but still require to 'view website' for the complete story. Unfortunately if you choose not to do this, in order to move to the next story you now have to click on the X to close.  The feedback Google+ feed is blowing up over this issue with many pro users outraged they simply released this build to the general public without any trial.  The feedly people note you can not disable this completely but from the preferences you can choose to have it only on Card View. I personally like the Magazine view so this no longer poses a problem for me.

No Agenda-The Saturday Missive

Producers,
If you have not contributed to the show recently please consider contributing whatever you can afford to show 646 tomorrow. And we have opened up the 7th anniversary special donations – the sack of 7’s or $77.77. Click here.

My weekend. This was taken a second before
Smokey gave me a hard punch to
the gut after I blamed him for Global Warming

It looks as if we are going to have to revisit Ferguson because the autopsies are contradicting eye-witness hysteria. Gee, false reports? Like that has never happened before.

Ferguson!

This means we go even further away from what is an obvious distraction to see what is going on in the rest of the world -- this means Europe, China and the Middle East. In the USA not much happens when Congress and the President go on vacation.

Why did Russia rush all the transport trucks into Ukraine? What’s happening with the Iceland volcano? Iceland has issued a red alert? Will Adam be trapped in Holland?

It seems as if everyone is slowly resigning themselves to the fact that Iraq will be three distinct countries any minute now. Was this the American plan all along? Is the USA shadow government really that good?

Twitter to delete images of deceased family members on request

OK I get it, there are a lot of sick people in this world and will upset those at their weakest moments but guess what, its called 'the social network'.. and you DON'T have to participate in it.  Great, you disconnected your twitter account.. next you should do Facebook and get on with your life.. but to go as far as removing all images of a great man seems a little extreme.  Just my opinion of course and certainly no disrespect to Robin Williams family. I loved and honoured this great person in all of his comedic and acting rolls.

Adam Carolla Settles With Podcasting Patent Troll: Even With A Strong Case And $500k In The Bank, It's Too Expensive To Fight

The podfather, Adam Curry has made his opinion quite clear on his own podcast No Agenda, the fact that people have been sending Carolla money to the tune of half a million dollars, it seems to me that money should go towards these court fees and NOT in Carolla's pocket where it seems that was his plan all together.

Creepy, peeping drone spotted in downtown Vancouver

As an owner of the DJI Phantom 2 vision, I take serious offense to the negative press "drones" continue to get. First of all, unless the device does have a camera that makes it a FPV (first person view) device, then it can't be considered a drone. It is nothing more than a remote controlled hobby aircraft. Secondly, why does the DJI Phantom picture always show up in the headline of the news story. In this case, they do provide a disclaimer stating "a
drone similar to this phantom model, but with a camera mounted"  well yeah, if it was 'peeping' then it must have had a camera--so why not at least use a picture of the model of drone that was 'allegedly' peeping?  Why not--because these reporters are too damn lazy to do any real research to the story. This is one more reason why the No Agenda Show is where everyone should be getting their REAL NEWS!

    Producers,
If we can get to October, then things pick up for the show. Now, we begin to head towardsour lucky 7th anniversary. And then comes show 666 on what appears to be Nov. 2. One producer suggested that the show may as well open a 666 club to add to the excitement. So if you contribute 666 now, you get a producers credit, plus a second producers credit in November, plus become a member of Club 666. Why not? Join in by clicking here.

The whole 666 thing in a nutshell.
    Loose translation: donate!

Remember you can always contribute whatever you want by clicking here or donate your local temperature by clicking here.

A producer sent the show an Adam Curry selfie template so you too can have your picture taken with Adam. John immediately added Al Sharpton into the template. More hijinx.

That guy does have a big head

The news this week is dominated by the police action in Missouri, a part of the country that has been loaded to the gills with used military gear. You can be assured a lot of Congressional hearings will be discussing the redistribution of heavy military gear to outfit Podunk police departments.

Cool government gear in Ferguson. Thanks Uncle Sam!

The No Agenda thesis is that this action is all about getting out the black vote for 2014 and indeed people have set-up voter registration tables run by the local democrats.

Meanwhile, the public-at-large seems war weary in general and will pretty much let the government do whatever it wants.
    So let's bomb ISIS!

How hard is it to adjust the x-y ratios of a photo
so they kind of look the same?

The actual monster threat out there is the distinct possibility that a second volcano will erupt in Iceland disrupting world affairsNo Agenda had a lot of discussion when Eyjafjallajokull blew up and changed travel patterns all over the EU.

You were also told that historically the Iceland volcanoes blow in pairs. A second one never erupted. But now, four years later, a genuine whopper called  Bardarbunga is shaking a bit and now on the watch list. This one would be far more disruptive than the first.

Americans must consider the possibility that if you are traveling to Europe that the only way to get back will be by steamer or by only flying East over Russia and China.

Make sure to listen to tomorrow’s show for your best source of meaningful news analysis. Support the show by visiting the support page here. Remember it’s one of the cheapest forms of quality entertainment as well as being the Best Podcast in the Universe. Help support it today.

    Your co-hosts,
John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry
PS The shortage of checks sent directly to the show continues throughout the summer. It’s time to reverse the trend with a generous direct contribution. No Agenda, Box 339, El Cerrito, CA 94530

August is dog days for the show. No kittens! Please donate.

Is the Windows-based HP Stream 14 a Chromebook killer?

This is hardly going to be the chromebook killer! Sure, the price is in the same ballpark but it won't match benchmark speeds as any windows machine with 2GB of memory is going to suck for starters. Next, add the 32 or 64 GB hard drive--this means you will have about 16 or 48gb of usable storage-hardly enough for many windows based programs if you really need it.  Personally speaking the closest "killer" of the chromebook in my opinion has already been released and that is the Asus Transformer T100.  For $429 (sure its $100 more) you get a tablet as well as laptop, the Trailbay quad core processor with office baked in. It truly does work well.. but it still means having antivirus and the routine malware scans..so forget about thinking any windows based laptop will ever kill a chromebook!

    No Agenda-The Saturday Missive

    Dear Producer,
The Show is headed towards show 666, there are now three “beast” donations that everyone can afford, and I’d like to personally invite you to contribute to the SundayShow with some sort of beast donation so we can round out this week for you.

    Stooges, beasts, advertising.
Whatever you want to call it.

First, there is the Beast donation of $666 for the beast in you. With this you get a double executive producers credit. One for the Sunday Show and one for show 666. Click here for that.

Then you have the mini beast affordable contribution of $66.60. Click here for that.

And finally, the micro beast, a simple but helpful contribution of $6.66 which everyone who listens to the show can easily affordPlease click here.

Janet, you may stand. Oh! Never mind.

And you can always contribute whatever you want by clicking here.

Adam will be in New York at his family reunion with interesting anecdotes from the field.

What would be cool is Adam going to the UN and asking what Samantha Power meant by this tweet:

Click to see thread she generated.

Is she trying to stir up trouble for no reason. These neo-cons (along with John McCain and Lindsey Graham) are war mongers of the worst sort.

All that and more on tomorrow’s No Agenda ShowLive from New York and California.

    Thanks for all your help.
    Your co-host,

    John C. Dvorak
PS. Many of you enjoy sending checks. Please continue. You can always find the mailing address on the support page here.

     Rock on with No Agenda.
