No Agenda-Saturday Memo

Note from John C. Dvorak

Love

Producers,

Do you love No Agenda? Please help us continue to produce the show for you by making a generous pre-Easter donation today. Click here.
Douchebags. Do not become one.
On tomorrow’s show there will be continued deconstruction of the doomed Airbus flight with more interesting unreported facts. You may want to read about a similar situation (without the addition of a supposedly crazy co-pilot) here. This happened last November.

Also some new anomalies have emerged.
The American audience will be taken aback by the sudden announcement by Harry Reid, the Democrat Senator who ruled the roost for a decade, will retire. Of course after his mysterious mishap with a supposed exercise machine leaving him apparently blind in one-eye and beat-up. You  have to wonder why the FBI has not been looking into this.
In Africa yet another outrageous Al-Shabaab siege ended up with 24 dead. This time is was a crappy-looking hotel in Mogadishu that had been a target before. There has to be some specific reason this place was a target and it does not seem to be reported well in the Western media, as usual.

And especially for you tomorrow: tech news. Listen live if you can at 9 PST.
Your co-host,

PS Donations have been down this month. Please help us with a generous contribution by clicking here or finding a suitable plan here.

Big Brother 3 has started

Ok so anyone that knows me also knows that I haven't missed a season of Big Brother.. that is USA from season 1 and of course all seasons of the new Big Brother Canada.  This week BBCAN3 started and so I figured would provide my 10 cents (or 1 loonie if you are converting to US Dollars--I wish!)

Spoilers I guess however the show has already ended so if you haven't watched it then you should before reading this.

The feeds are live and free (thanks to the advertisements--CBS could learn a lot from Canada here)

If you are in the USA you can watch using the Hola extension for your Chrome browser.

Risha is gone.. so they gave the vote to Canada and as much as I would have liked to see her stay at least one more week to see if she could bridge the age-gap... the thing is, she is the ONLY one that is in her 40s and the average is well in the 20's so right off the bat she was given a real negative mark against her.. then, giving Canada the vote pretty much sealed her fate as I am sure those that were voting were in their 20's or teens and just saw her as a joke.  To be honest, when she dropped her top in the hot tub, to me, that was a sign she was definitely trying too hard and really not going to do any good winner the votes of the other women in the house.  Now that I watch the live feeds as well as "after dark' from the first night it appears they didn't waste any time to match up with the various HG"s..

The feeds are up with 4 rooms and a bonus room that the feeders get to vote on.. nice touch but I would still like to have the quad cam option even though the thumbnails do show the other cameras, they are quite delayed and too small to really enjoy any real sort of viewing.

My early favorites (or favourites if you are Canadian like me) The quarterback has people glued to his side and him having an early alliance with the IT geek should work in his favor. I'm not saying he is my fav but I think he will do well if he doesn't have too much of a mark on his back being so athletic. Time will tell. As for the women.. I'm not sold on any one person at this time.. as I have just started watching.. Nobody annoys me but I'm also not blown away by any one person this season initially either.

In the afterdark program, it appears the guys were doing a lot more game play plotting than the girls but no worries as the girls will become quite catty sooner or later. I'll leave it at that and start watching the feeds!

No Agenda Thursday Show

Guardians of Reality, Reality Check

Dear Producer,

Your No Agenda Show is asking you to renew your vows to the show and contribute any amount you can afford for this Thursdays show. So far the numbers are down. Click here. Everything helps.

Spring has sprung and this is a good time to review the nearly 8 years that the No Agenda Experiment has survived against all odds. It continues because of the producers of the show like you have decided that what is done for you on the No Agenda Show is actually worth paying for. Hopefully you fully understand those words, “actually worth paying for.”

Most of what you watch on TV, listen to on the radio or over the Internet cannot make this claim because you are the product being sold to the advertiser and the advertiser is the client. And the client or customer is always right. What they say goes! The system in corrupted.
So you will not get critical analysis of BNSF or Standard Oil on the PBS NewsHour. And you cannot get critical analysis of drug makers on the NBC Nightly News. It’s not possible. Those are all advertisers.

The self-censorship of the media is institutional and unavoidable. This is why the comfort zone of the mainstream media is celebrity news which is often bought and paid for too.
Hear what our listeners and producers have to say:

Jonathan Showman student from Oklahoma: "Been listening for about two years now. This show is an outstanding product which has been the antidote to help get me through some very hard times."

Sir Richard Gardiner out of Chicago: "The comment from Andrew Sawyer on episode 703 about being utterly exasperated with the news media and how his family and friends 100% buy-in to it all really struck a chord.  I too am yet to turn 30, and I find it extremely hard to discuss any current events with anyone I know just because I'm not “all-in” with what's being spouted from the talking heads on CNN 24-hrs a day.  The hardest part is seeing family members get sucked into the same black hole and seemingly having no way of being able to drag them back out.
"
This is It’s been said before. Listening to outright lies, fabrications and perverted interpretations of reality is not healthy for you or anyone around you. It’s unhealthy and bad for you. TV celebrities offer no insight or help. They are there as part of the commercial machine to promote more entertainment outlets to keep the public stupefied.
When you find someone with whom you argue about the realities of current events just stop in the middle of the conversation and say, “You have been stupefied!”

Add no further information and watch what happens.
Please contribute to your No Agenda Show today with any amount by clicking here or by finding a plan that suits you here.

And remember April 5th the Easter/Birthday Coincidence by clicking here.  And on tomorrow’s show you can be certain Adam will have an analysis of the crashed 320 Airbus you will hear no place else. After all, it’s your No Agenda Show where you get uncorrupted information andincredible analysis.
Your co-hosts,
John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry

PS  And you can always send checks to Box 339, El Cerrito, CA 94530. Make checks payable to the No Agenda Show.
The John Fletcher call out will continue to be available for the next few shows.Click here and have Fletcher shout your name or whatever else you want for a ring tone.
This is quite a slog without your support!

No Agenda-The Saturday Memo

Note from John C. Dvorak

Special Coincidence Show on Easter

Producers,

We need our producers to please step up for the Sunday Show. The Thursdayaccounting was sub-par and tomorrow is not looking very good either.

Here’s the good news. Two weeks from tomorrow’s show marks a coincidence that has not happened since 1953. It will be the second time in my lifetime that Easter falls directly on my birthday. The first time I was too little to recall and, until I found the chart shown below I always figured it would happen every 7 years. Not true. Easter is calculated by some convoluted formula that nobody wants to explain. The chart below will suffice.

Your donations once again fell off last Thursday so I figured that a Easter Birthday best wishes donation to the show might perk things up and even things out while wishing your co-host a happy birthday while actually contributing to the success of the show. You give the show a much-needed contribution,  and you give me a sweet “Happy Birthday.” Aww. The date is 4-5-15 so let’s add a $45.15 grand coincidenceHappy Birthday donation to the list.

Please take part in this for the sake of grand coincidences everywhere.
Easter can fall anywhere from March 22 to April 25.
And let’s keep this newsletter short by encouraging those of you who never donate toplease consider any sort of subscription either though online banking or the various offers you can find on the No Agenda Support page by clicking here.
Off-topic curiosity. This image appeared on Twitter. Supposedly this "Bakelite" phone was tested around 1929. The first dial phones appeared in 1919. The push button concept was retested in 1940 but got nowhere. The dial won out until the push buttons returned in 1963 during an era when push buttons became ubiquitous.
Your co-host,

PS Thanks to those of you who use your online banking to send checks directly. Remember it is No Agenda Show, Box 339 El Cerrito, CA 94530

Considering Windows 10 is going to be a free release/update for anyone with a pre-existing windows operating system anyway, this seems like a moot point!

No Agenda Thursday Show

The severely compromised corporate media arises (again).

Dear Producer,

The news marches on and your No Agenda Show promises more and better analysis than you can find on any sort of broadcast anywhere, This is thanks to you. In this newsletter we want to thank you for the great support we have received over the past three shows and hope you will continue to help us continue by generously giving any amount. Click here and help.
This week is highlighted by odd events and contradictions. Someone, perhaps the sugar lobby or even the corn lobby is going after artificial sweeteners now blaming the ubiquitous beer belly on diet soda.
Which ones drink diet soda?
Look for the new term “sharenting” to emerge. It has to do with parents who use social media with their children. You all know how much the kids like their parents involved with everything they do.
Former CIA chief and torture promoter, Michael Hayden, looks like he'd be into "sharenting" if anyone was. And proud of it. We're guessing he has a mug on his desk that says, "Worlds Best Dad."
If you want real analysis based on research and digging deeper into a story, No Agenda is your show. To keep it alive please support No Agenda any way you can. There are excellent ideas on the support page here.
Suddenly astronomers are discovering that there are billions of potentially habitable planets in the universe. They’d better get working on that warp drive if this is to mean anything. This is a bogus distraction topic that we hope not to discuss on the next show. And the show will remain a “Ferguson-free” zone for your convenience.
Screaming Ring Tone.
It’s not official yet, but John Fletcher, the producer who screams “Putin” and “Koch brothers” so beautifully, has agreed to extend the Sir Nussbaum idea andscream your name for a ring tone. This will be available free at the Pi donation amount of $314.15. It will be available by clicking here. You can request any name.

Sounds like a winner.
Your co-hosts,
John C. Dvorak & Adam Curry
