No Agenda Newsletter

No Agenda Thursday Show Newsletter

Podcasting from Home Base

Astonishing Jet-Powered Trains
No Agenda is your show. Please please support No Agenda any way you can. There are excellent ideas on the support page here.
Dear Producer,
Tomorrow everything is back to normal as John and Adam are back at their home bases, which always makes for the best shows. And the shows also needs to rebound from the incredible shortfall of support experienced last Sunday.

Some of this is attributable to Tax Day in the USA which because of computer glitches has been changed to 4-18-18 (today!) This has all sorts of donation possibilities. The special donation could be $418.18 or $41.82 in dimes (rounding up the last 8). This will also represent the amount left from the $418.18  after all taxes, fees, service charges, sales and property taxes, etc. So click here for the fabulous after taxes No Agenda support.

And you can always donate a random amount anytime you feel like it. Click hereto contribute whatever you can afford.
On tomorrow’s show you will get a final report from the EU and from the Mississippi Gulf Shores meet up in Ocean Springs.

The news has a lot of rich material including the continuation of the “Stormy Daniels” scandal that is not getting any real traction in the court of public opinion. There is also the death of Barbara Bush and the retirement of Raoul Castro.
And then there is this headline from the NYTimes. “Secret Pompeo Mission to North Korea Shows Trump's Trust in Spies Over Diplomats.” You should immediately ask yourself can’t anyone keep a secret in Washington?
Geez, can't these experts keep a secret? Or are they trying to get me killed?
Hilarity ensues with the current crop of news.

The Show is healthier with sustaining donations known as subscriptions.
Here are a few to choose from.

The favorite is the lucky $33.33 a month. Click here for that.
It has superseded the once popular $11.11 month. More lucky numbers click here.
For 2018 we have the $20.18 subscription. Click here.
Most recently the show offered the $4 a week or 75-cents an hour subscription which has become very popular. Click here for that.
There is also the $50 a month Knighthood layaway for 20 months. Click here for that.
And, of course, there is the do-it yourself open donation which is always welcome.

Incredible attempts at the jet-powered train
The 160 MPH Russian jet-powered train was a sensation in 1970. And it was put into service (below).
The final stop is unpleasant. This train shown above should be grabbed by one of the many USA Train museums.
The French got into the act with a jet train that was about the size of a passenger plane.
Most of these French (circa 1974) trains used rear props.
This circa 1966 train and the one below were put into service by the New York Central. More info on this train is here.
These trains may have all stemmed from the 1931 ideas out of Germany called theSchienenzeppelin meaning rail zeppelin. Above is the the back end of one of the last trains. Below is the prototype. The trains were never accepted as the public was freaked out by the large prop.
