No Agenda-The Saturday Memo

If you want real analysis based on research and digging deeper into a story,No Agenda is your show. To keep it alive please support No Agenda any way you can. There are excellent ideas on the support page here.
Dear Producer,
Mother’s Day 2018 is upon us and if you give a standard 5-13 ($51.30) you can call out your Mom on the Sunday No Agenda Show. This is one of the few times we read  from specific donations under $200, so take advantage of it. Click here.

Also you will get your name and your Mom’s (or whomever) name into the historic Dutch registry as they are archiving the show.

Or you can be creative and contribute any random amount by clicking here.
Mother’s Day was an invention of West Virginian Anna Jarvis in 1908.Beginning as a celebration of her mother it was one of those things that clicked with the public and was institutionalized by Congress in 1911. In 1914 it became the second Sunday in May. In the early 1920’s Hallmark came along with its cards. Now it seems that mostly florists benefit from the yearly event. A few department stores promote sales around the day to get people out shopping on Sunday.
Jarvis railed against any commercialization of "her" tribute holiday. This would include this particular No Agenda promotion. I suspect she would not be a fan of the show anyway.
Over the past six years your No Agenda show has seen a year-to-year falloff in Mother’s Day donations as the nuclear family is under attack and destabilizing. The coincidence is definitely there and you’ve heard us joking that No Agenda supporters hate their Mom.

Prove this thesis wrong (if you can) by contributing something for tomorrow’s show. Click here.
Your co-host,

PS Checks should be sent directly to the No Agenda Show, Box 339, El Cerrito CA 94530. Your support means everything.
