The candidates include Andrew “Free Money” Yang, a communist woman and a tough on crime ex-cop, among others. There are so many because the city is employing a ranked choice system where it is possible for the person who came in second place on everyone’s ballot and did not get one vote for Mayor could possibly win. This has been tried all over the country with various amounts of success. The rationale for doing this is never been fully explained. It always seems like a trick to get one specific person elected. To Hell With Press Freedom The US Government has seized and closed some 33 (yes!) news websites run by the Iranians. Most of you have run across these websites now and again as they do actually provide news stories, sometimes with unique perspectives. But they were shut down as disinformation sites. When does the government become the arbiter of news? Everyone should be offended by this. Does this mean the Gateway pundit is next? Or Bitchute? Where is the media outrage? Let’s say that a news site is providing supposed “disinformation.” OK, now ask what law was broken? This is government overreach. This has to be illegal to do this. Covid Redux With all the fear-mongering with the “Delta Variant” we learn that Oxford University is looking into Ivermectin as a treatment for Covid. Wait, what? After a year of successful use in the field and over 50 research papers indicating effectiveness, they are looking into it in June of 2021? So much for Oxford being a front-line operation. No Agenda goes where others are not allowed to go.
