Tomorrow’s Show There is a lot to discuss stemming from the news cycle, but we would be remiss if some nonsense wasn’t brought up. This is nonsense that the public seems to crave and eat up. Included is the incredible marketing campaign constructed by some genius at American Eagle.
The company created an ad – that nobody can actually say they ever saw on TV or cable – and chummed the water with some fake liberal outrage over the high-profile hearthrob celebrity spokesperson, Sidney Sweeney, conflating the words genes and jeans in an effort to sell jeans. TikTok outrage from adenoidal nose-ring-wearing fat girls said this was Nazi propaganda and was somehow promoting Eugenics. A slew of other phony (and some real suckers) chimed in.
The bored and jaded media from all sides joined the party with lame commentary as American Eagle stock prices went up, jeans sales increased and Sydney Sweeney got a lot of free publicity. Lord knows she needed it because she was not getting residuals from ads that were not running on TV (yet) and were just all over the Internet.
Hopefully her agent was read-in to this scheme and she was well compensated up front. This lesson in marketing communications was followed up by another woke poke ad about genetics done by Dunkin’ Donuts and finalized by the expected “lib” counter programming by Abercrombie and Fitch going back to the grotesque big-ass woman in jeans celebrating body positivity. After this exercise, it’s obvious we are doomed as a species. Also in the news there was some tariff back-and-forth and Kamala Harris appeared on the Colbert Show to plug her book, which she obviously has not yet read. She is so remarkably vapid that you have to wonder how she got any votes at all. |
