| Dear Producer, For a man who spent decades famously predicting the catastrophic demise of almost every major technological innovation, it is with the heaviest of hearts we must announce that John’s own hardware finally gave out on Monday morning, July 20th, 2026, at the age of 80. He went peacefully, albeit suddenly, with Mimi at his side, critiquing the acting and story line of NCIS.
John loved doing the show, loved the feedback, good and bad. He was not a man known for affection, but he had a deep appreciation for you all. He enjoyed entertaining you, challenging you, debating you, and most of all meeting you. He enjoyed reading your emails and letters more than he would ever admit.
John will miss No Agenda.
The good news is that the show will go on, as John would demand. Tomorrow's show, episode 1888 (his favorite number, how fitting) will be a remembrance of JCD with stories and anecdotes from his family and friends about the man you've known, and most of you liked.
