The news is getting weirder as the various primaries across the USA get some unique candidates ready for the general election in November. More important to the future of the show is the slow tightening of the noose of censorship that is being tested around the world with Germany and its “Aktionstag zur Bekämpfung von Hasspostings “ (Action Day to combat hate posting). Here is a report from one of the city publications in the Dortmund area (translated).

Leaving behind hate comments on the internet is very easy: Insults, threats or xenophobic comments can be disseminated with the click of a mouse. The police and the judiciary consistently oppose these crimes. This includes the now third nationwide "Action Day to combat hate posting", which takes place today and is coordinated by the Federal Criminal Police Office.

Since this morning, 06.00 clock, 20 police stations in Berlin, Bavaria, Brandenburg, Hesse, Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia are in the context of the action day in action. They carry out apartment searches, interrogations and other measures against 29 accused persons. The perpetrators are accused of having posted hate comments on the Internet, such as the public call for crimes, anti-Semitic verbal abuse or xenophobic incitement. The "simple mouse click" to spread hate on the net can have serious consequences for the perpetrators: incitement in social networks or online forums is punishable by imprisonment of up to five years.

The Day of Action to combat hate mailing emphasizes that the Internet is not a law-free area. The speedy removal of hate comments on the Internet, as envisaged by the Network Enforcement Act, which came into force at the beginning of this year, is just as important as the prosecution of perpetrators.

The Germans are testing what amounts to online book burning with this action although they would never see it that way. If it works to minimize harsh discourse, then what is next?

No Agenda has predicted this sort of thing for years with it in mind that licensing and regulation of websites will be accomplished by putting the Internet in a special “protected” category as determined by the rules within the Net Neutrality scam. In that framework free speech will be swapped out for “lawful speech.”

Ramblings of the insane.

Germany is more than willing to test public opinion in this arena. Eventually the simple online epithet “you suck!” will be banned and punishable. Because we are already seeing today’s ethics and tastes pushed back in time resulting in censorship of the past (they are coming after you, Mark Twain) you can be sure that even “you suck” gets expunged from the archives in a not-to-distant future.
