No Agenda-The Saturday Memo

If you want real analysis based on research and digging deeper into a story,No Agenda is your show. To keep it alive please support No Agenda any way you can. There are excellent ideas on the support page here.
Dear Producer,
Last Sunday’s show had some of the lowest support of the year and hopefully you will pick up the slack and bring it up for today with it in mind that on 8/8 my wife, Mimi and I will celebrate the 30th marriage anniversary. It’s interesting because this is quite an accomplishment for each of us. We were married on 8/8/88 for obvious reasons.  Eight!

So the show is offering the $88.88 anniversary donation to the No Agenda Show. If you want an autographed photo just say so in the donation note and we’ll get one off specifically for this moment. Think of your children and the antiques roadshow in 2150. Click here.

If you care about the show, but not so much about these rare occasions, and want to contribute something, then click here for that. Please support show 1057.
We'll be in Seattle instead.
There is a lot to discuss on tomorrow’s show including outrageous anti-Caucasian (white) rhetoric appearing worldwide all at once for some reason. It’s borderline weird and begins with the curious case of Sarah Jeong, the new editorial board member of the New York Times.

Here is the bio from her own website:

Sarah Jeong is a journalist and lawyer. She is currently a senior writer at the Verge. She is the author of The Internet of Garbage, and has bylines at the Atlantic, the Washington Post, New York Times Magazine, Motherboard, Forbes, the Guardian, and more. In 2017, she was named as one of Forbes’s 30 under 30 in the category of Media.

Jeong graduated from Harvard Law School in 2014. As a law student, she edited the Harvard Journal of Law & Gender, and worked at the Electronic Frontier Foundation and at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society. She was a Poynter Fellow in Journalism at Yale for 2016, and also currently a fellow at the Internet Law & Policy Foundry
This is the bio of a go-getter who hit the ground running almost as if she had a publicist. But much of the attention she received was from her seemingly outrageous tweets advocating killing all whites and killing all men, white or not.
Before the Times hired her they had a frank discussion of her tweets which were deemed something of a parody or a push back on hate tweets she received from weirdos. The Times bought whatever she was selling and she’s seated as someone who will help determine the direction of the paper. The funniest, and most ironic, of her peculiar tweets was this:
An article in the Verge defends her with a host of editors contributing to the piece in what I would call virtue signaling. You can read it hereNobody denies the tweets but they all say that the tweets are taken out of context.
She was "meme"-ified with this gem from some time back.
Most of these (recent tweets) are just stand-alone tweets. She likes to tweet. She uses a lot of "code" words. Her old timeline is gone from Twitter.
S.C.U.M. = Society for cutting up men
Generally speaking, when you make the "out of context" claim it is now your job to put things in context to prove your point, but that is not done at all. So we are left hanging with outrage about the outrage. In fact, she throws out a lot of odd stand-alone tweets with no context.
Her articles in the Verge (here) do not seem particularly hateful or racist. There is an intellectual gay and pro-immigrant perspective that melds well with the NYT. And she literally hates Jordan Peterson. I suspect she will fade into the woodwork at the Times as she kind of fits in with the current direction of the paper anyway. Unless she does something stupid now, she will be there to represent the educated Asian female youth of America. A V.I.P. Huzzah.
She definitely has a politicized sense of humor. And is now empowered bigly.

For 2018 we have the $20.18 subscription. Click here.

Most recently the show offered the $4 a week or 75-cents an hour subscription which has become very popular. Click here for that.

There is also the $50 a month Knighthood layaway for 20 months. Click here for that.

And, of course, there is the do-it yourself open donation which is always welcome.
Misc.
There is a lot of hate Tommy Robinson action in London. By Whom? Who is really behind it and why?
This sign is self-contradictory if you think about it.
Booker is an idiot.
Creativity abounds in America.
Odd anti-American bigotry headed your way.
The hard-core Democrats said the same thing about GW Bush predicting a change in the constitution and a third term. Previously almost these exact words were used for Nixon who was going to declare himself emperor. Does Howard think this makes him look good?
