The New Samsung Chromebook Is Almost a Real Laptop

As much as I am a huge fan and supporter of the chromebooks, I am getting sick and tired of this native advertising for them.  With regards to the latest Samsung Chromebook, they make it sound like this is such a great deal and 'almost a real laptop'. I"m sorry but they have always been a real laptop!  My first chromebook was the 1st Generation Samsung and although it only has 2gb of RAM and only a dual core processor, it continues to get faster as each new build of chrome o/s is released. I paid $249 for it. My second chromebook is the Acer 720P with touch screen display. This was the one feature I really felt useful on any new laptop and so when Acer introduced this I knew I had to get one. This unit is still only 2GB of RAM and still a dual core processor. I paid $299 for this.
Now, with this latest version of chromebook from Samsung at $400 misses the touchscreen display but provides a quad core processor and double the ram at 4GB. The thing is the chrome o/s doesn't really need more than 2gb of memory, especially since the apps that work on this device are still, and always will be, browser based. I believe Samsung's latest version misses the boat by providing a faux leather cover instead of the touchscreen. As for the quad core and 4gb of memory, these are items that are inevitable with all new tech.
