Tomorrow's Show Trump went on a rampage of activity over the Mother’s Day weekend and is still on the move after giving a long but stirring speech in Saudi Arabia aimed at charming Prince bin-Salman by showing him in compliments while dragging a slew of Silicon Valley dudes along for the ride. The speech, in a fabulous and opulent setting, paid for by the oil trade, was a Trump sales pitch masterpiece hammering home the need for commerce not conflict. Much of the speech was aimed at Iran with not so subtle threats. One positive signal towards the Arab world was to completely bypass Israel on the trip with most analysts now saying the there is a rift between Trump and Netanyahu largely because Israel is looking to bomb Iran and Trump is against it. The administration got wind of the fact that certain individuals including ousted National Security Advisor Mike Waltz may have schemed with Netanyahu to push for war with Iran. One obstacle was peace-nik Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and the hope was to get rid of him and put in a more hawkish Defense Secretary. The entire “Signal-Gate” (with a second round of Hegseth getting caught telling tales on the system) was designed as a trap to get Pete out of there. It backfired and Waltz and his aide got ousted. Somehow Netanyahu was involved in the scheme and now he is in the doghouse. Thus Trump went directly to the Houthis without bringing in Israel to release the last American hostage. He also had them stop their bombing of the shipping lanes but they could still fire missiles into Israel. Trump 2.0 is not going to let these John Bolton-like schemers last long. And you can be sure Tulsi-Gabbard has his back and keeping things honest. She must have had something to do with all this. Because we seem to be backing away from starting a war with Iran and bombing them to smithereens various supposed Republican and Trump supporters out there, like public intellectual Douglas Murray and radio host Mark Levin, are starting to slowly turn sour on Trump.
