I say Bull Shit to this report that the Drone industry likes the FAA plan... lets face it, in the USA the FAA have basically been trying to get their hands on these remote controlled "toys" for some time and now all they are doing is making it a pay to play sport. You pay to get your licence and you can fly... this is no difference than gun control in my opinion. You register the device, pay for a licence and you can use your new toy but if/when it gets away from you and God Forbid it should actually cause damage to someones property, or worse, hit someone, you can bet the Feds will be knocking on your door. Such a bull shit maneauver, one that has the US Government controlling even more of your person!
You wait and see.. when some good samaritan with their "drone" will save someone's life in some sort of rescue, only to later learn that this pilot didn't have a license and will still end up being fined for it when a public outcry will ensue.
