No more lawn watering

For the life of me, I will never understand this sort of supposed legislation. For starters, these people are on a metered water system which means you pay for whatever water you use. Therefore if you want to water your lawns, you will pay for it..   Secondly, if they are going to implement this sort of water ban and then enforce it with bylaw officers who will in turn fine you if you are caught watering your lawn, then they should also have no laws pertaining to the upkeep of your yard. Therefore if someone doesn't cut their lawn or for that matter, even care to have a lawn, it should not matter.  Thirdly and probably most importantly.. how about those that have swimming pools and are in the process of cleaning and caring for their pool. Again, noting they are paying for whatever water they use, if you are saying you can't water the lawn, yet the person can go ahead and empty and fill their pool as often as they want (because who knows what you are doing to your pool in your back yard--I'm pretty sure the bylaw officers aren't going to be going in to everyone's back yard to confirm whether you have a pool or not). This is just an absolute waste of time bylaw put in place by various cities and I have a hard time believing, if pursued by any law firm, would last.  There are far too many loopholes.
