Windows 10 Upgrade--it's happening--Sooner or Later

If you haven't already started the upgrade to Windows 10,don't worry it will happen sooner or later. There are a few ways you can speed this up and if you are an existing client of mine then this is what you will want to do:

  1. Contact me and ask when you will be upgraded--I will move you up the list that I already have which is the notification I received from Microsoft when your computer is ready.
  2. Click on the windows 10 upgrade icon and see if you have already entered your email address to be notified. Note: This is where I would have placed your name and my email address so that I get notification however you can enter your own email address and simply let me know when you get the notification.  Also note if you can't enter an email address it would be because I have already done this for you.
  3. If you click on the windows 10 icon in the system tray and it says 'ready-lets go' or something like that.. just close it and contact me letting me know it is ready.
  4. If you want to proceed, even though you haven't got the go head, you can cut in front of the line so-to-speak, however be aware this also means your computer hasn't been checked for compatibility either so you are may run in to some unlikely issues like display issues so be careful.. you will need to know whether or not you have a 64 bit system or 32 bit system and if this is something that sounds foreign to you then DO NOT PROCEED.    If you know what your O/S is then you can click on the appropriate link below:

If you want to proceed on your own (because you aren't a client of mine) then go for it..the problem is, not that you should have a problem, but if you do, you should have someone technical you can contact to help you with whatever issues happen that require you do something that you are not familiar with.. remember you are  upgrading your computer's operating system here!

That being said, and the fact that I have now done over 100 of thse upgrades, I have only had 1 issue that required "technical knowledge" of how to fix it. maybe I'm being too kind.. there have been a few issues but nothing that most people shouldn't be able to figure out and move forward without too many problems but you should be aware this is the first time Microsoft is pushing and entire Operating system upgrade through the normal windows updates channel.

What you should know is that once you have upgraded to Windows 10, this will be the LAST OPERATING SYSTEM you will need to learn so you have plenty of time to get used to it.. Microsoft has stated there will only be updates (constantly) for this new O/S and from this point forward, which I think is a great way of proceeding with things.

Finally, for those of you that may have upgraded and are now wishing you hadn't and want to go back. Although you can go back if you haven't removed your old operating system through the disk cleanup procedure, I highly do not recommend it because as I just stated, this is the last operating system they will ever make and so there is no reason not to learn it.. not to mention Windows 7 end of life should be by the end of the year but will likely go another year past that.. but you only have the first year to upgrade FOR FREE.. after that you will have to pay for it.. and at that point, on an older computer like one running windows 7, it probably wouldn't be worth upgrading when it would be costing you $$.
